Clarity — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
What Clarity does:
Clarity is a Chrome extension that analyses the tone of text you select on any webpage.
What data we collect:
Clarity does not collect, store or sell any personal data. The only data processed is text that you explicitly highlight and choose to analyse.
How your data is used:
When you click Analyse, the text you have highlighted is sent to our secure server to be analysed for tone. The result is returned instantly to your browser. We do not store, log or retain any of the text you submit.
Third party services:
Clarity uses the Anthropic Claude API to perform tone analysis. Text is processed by Anthropic solely for the purpose of returning a tone result. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
Data storage:
Clarity stores only your analysis results locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device.
Cookies:
Clarity does not use cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Clarity after changes means you accept the updated policy.
